The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering providers for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency stated it's alarmed in regards to the substantial amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office devoted to service the sassa status area on a regular basis. The support point developed for intervention ordeals a high inflow of probable beneficiaries, which makes it difficult with the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all shoppers and enhance entry to Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
